Scathing shock attack on our beloved club!
Pretty accurate article in today's "I"......nothing that any of us don't already know though ...

Doesn't matter a jot what is said or published - bums on seats, punters in the shop tell the board all they need to know about the success of THEIR business plan.

In any business, if the product sells, don't mess with it; cut costs wherever possible, but deliver what the customer keeps coming back to buy; doesn't matter if it's football or Fairy Liquid.

It bugs the shit out of me that people here complain about Dyche's style of football, but how many of us would have been laughing our arses off at a WHU 0-1 win in the style of Burnley last week?

It's something to build on.

Re: Scathing shock attack on our beloved club!
I think the article delivers the harsh truth; is it possible to disagree with this sentence?

"They will surely avoid relegation, but survival will provoke only a tired sigh of relief from their fans, accompanied by the forlorn comprehension that next season might bring more of the same".

I, for one, can't see what's going to change for the better. Yes, Bowen and Soucek were badly needed additions to the squad but how is Moyes going to get more out of what he's got?

Questions are being asked of multiple players......Anderson, Yarmolenko, Haller, Wilshere and Lanzini are big earners from whom we are getting little output and we are relying on the likes of Antonio, Rice, Noble etc; also, we aren't getting rid of many of the 5 I mentioned earlier any time soon.

Thoughts?

Chelmsford...
I'd like to hear some suggestions from him...as he obviously seems to have opinions on the problems...

Re: Scathing shock attack on our beloved club!
texas, what solution do you think the journalist should offer ?.

This site makes me laugh , people complain that what G and S have done to west ham doesn't get enough publicity and they get away with it. We then have a piece that calls them out and he's accused of lazy journalism and not offering a solution.

Im not sure some of our fans actually know what they want.

It’s hardly a shock and it’s not scathing enough

Only solution is to get behind Hammers United.
Very negative article and yes all stuff we know and nothing positive. No indication of where to go.
We have to go on though, don’t we?
Hammers United is the way forward.

"Now they shuffle through Westfield and down Stratford Walk out of grim habit and the desperate hope of requited love to watch a team they struggle to like run by owners they struggle to trust in a stadium they struggle to accept. Apathy is the only rung on the ladder lower than anger."

Amen.

Re: Scathing shock attack on our beloved club!
Very much a 'glass half empty' article and the Payet bit is ridiculous. What were we meant to do, go and buy Messi?

I'd like to give Moyes a preseason, not that there will be much of it, and a transfer window. We need stability more than anything and changing our manager every season or two doesn't bring that.

Bowen and Soucec have been brilliant additions, both players who give their all every game and have made significant contributions.

If Moyes wants to build a team of hard-working, young, passionate players from the lower leagues and abroad, then I'm all for it.

You just need to look at Sheffield United. They don't have one player as skilful as Anderson, Lanzini, Yarma, Wilshere and Fornals (if you judge them on their Youtube montages) but work as a unit.

I'm sick to death of these stroppy prima donna foreigners who don't show up half of the time and we need to change that policy.

Re: Scathing shock attack on our beloved club!
We didn’t tempt Payet to join us on a promise we would build a world class team around him. The truth is both West Ham and payet got lucky, the stars aligned and it all fell in to place for both him and us that season. We weren’t exactly in a bidding war to sign him and there wasn’t a queue of clubs to buy him off us either

I just checked in my atlas. I'm pretty sure Marseille is in Europe.

Re: Scathing shock attack on our beloved club!
Payet would have had just about his pick of any Club in Europe and he would ONLY go back to Marseille - who weren't even in Europe. That kind of fucks the idea that he left because of broken promises about signings.

connolly8 1:41 Sun Jul 12
Re: Scathing shock attack on our beloved club!
And going back to Marseille meant he was in a world class team?

Mike Oxsaw 2:17 Fri Jul 10
Re: Scathing shock attack on our beloved club!
The real issue is why we got into such a position that Payet pissed us about so much.

I didn't - and still don't - buy into the story that he was "playing away" and got caught out.

I think the real reason was because the Daves tempted him here on a promise they had no intention of following through on - viz: "To build a world class team around him".

When it became undeniably clear to him (Payet) that he WAS this "world class team" they spoke about he quite rightly got the fucking hump and wasn't prepared to "take it like a man", "one for the team" and all that.

If you want to set out a stall in Harrods or Fortnum & Masons, running it in the style of a Romford barrow-boy doesn't work.

We have no scouting system to speak of... how in hell's name can we expect to identify, watch, study and make decisions about players with nobody out there chasing it down?

Re: Scathing shock attack on our beloved club!
That's a lot of words saying the same old thing.

It's not WRONG per se, but appears to be written for someone who knows very little about football and what exactly is wrong with the dildos. There's better journalism in the Daily Mail, FFS.
